Flow Chemistry: Space and Time Control for Organic Synthesis
For recent two decades, flow microreaction technology has attracted much attentions in organic synthesis. One of the most unique and powerful advantages of flow microreaction is the ability to control extremely short reaction time. Although a synthetic operation such as an adding, mixing, separating of solution generally takes more than a few seconds in the flask reaction, it can be easily achieved within less than a second by using flow microreactors. This synthetic methodology can be also applied to the synthesis of valuable compounds such as pharmaceutical compounds and functional materials.
In thisseminar, a novel synthetic methodology through the precise control of unstable organolithium intermediates in microreactors will be presented. This methodology was well applied for the synthesis of biologically active compounds such as Pauciflorol F,1 thioquinazolinones,2 and Afesal,3 and functional molecules such as [10]CPP4 and functional norbornadienes.
